Sandwich Fetishness

I've been doing something unholy. Making sandwiches with fruit. I blame my dad and his monte cristos (if you are unfamiliar with a monte cristo, you have only yourself to blame).

Jake warned me that this looks slightly suspect. I assure you it is divine.

Fresh mozz.

Turkey.

Papaya and mango salsa with cucumber.

Ciabatta roll.

Try it.
Papaya and mango salsa with cucumber
1 mango, diced
1 papaya, diced
1 half cucumber, seeded and diced
1 roma tomato, diced
salt to taste
2 tsp white vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
Stir all ingredients together and let sit for at least an hour so the flavors can meld.
Add a minced jalapeno if you like some heat.

Looks good- wonder if guacamole would make it any better? (Guacamole/avocado makes all things better in my opinion)

In this instance, Jake is crazy.

mmmm. Looks yummers! BUT I will never make this only because I don't have ANY of those ingredients EVER in my house. I'm just not cool like you.

That looks gooood . . . I had my first monte cristo in Portland. We don't have those in Japan. By the way, did you know, we have fruit sandwiches in Japan? Usually strawberry sandwiches. It's not my favorite, but they eat it.

Unholy you say? What's unholy about cranberry mayo with turkey, or grapes in chicken salad. Not unholy. There's a place for all food, and you are simply furthering the quest for all things delectable. Yum.
